# Toolkits · Attach a toolkit to an agent

POST https://kd-agents.simplified.com/api/v1/agents/{agent_id}/toolkits
Content-Type: application/json

Attaches a toolkit by name. **Every tool in it becomes available to the
agent**, which costs prompt budget on every run.

Attached toolkits are stored on the agent record rather than as separate rows,
so they are keyed by `name` — there is no toolkit ID.

## Authentication

- `Authorization` header (required) (prefixed with ` Api-Key   `) — Header authentication of the form `Api-Key  <token>`
- `Authorization` header (bearer token, required) — Bearer authentication of the form `Bearer <token>`, where token is your auth token.

### Path parameters

- `agent_id` (string, required) — Agent UUID or slug — both are accepted. From `agents_listAgents`.

### Body (application/json)

This endpoint expects an AgentToolkitAttach.

- `name` (string, required) — Toolkit name, from `agents_listToolkits`.
