# Errors

| Status | Meaning                                                 | What to do                                                                         |
| ------ | ------------------------------------------------------- | ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| `202`  | Accepted; work continues in the background              | Poll — see [Async jobs](/api-reference/get-started/async-jobs-and-polling)         |
| `400`  | Validation failed                                       | Read `detail`; check required fields                                               |
| `401`  | Missing or invalid credential                           | Check the header carries an `Api-Key` or `Bearer` prefix                           |
| `403`  | Authenticated, but no access to this workspace or space | Check key scoping                                                                  |
| `404`  | Not found, or outside your workspace                    | Cross-tenant resources return 404 by design                                        |
| `429`  | Out of credits, or rate limited                         | Check [credits](/api-reference/get-started/credits-and-quotas); back off and retry |

Validation errors return field-keyed detail:

> For image and video generation, model-specific settings belong nested under
> `parameters`, not flat on the request body. Unknown keys are dropped rather than
> rejected, so a misplaced setting produces an unexpected result instead of an error.
