# Knowledge · Rename or re-describe a knowledge base

PATCH https://kd-agents.simplified.com/api/v1/knowledge-bases/{knowledge_base_id}
Content-Type: application/json

Updates the title or description. Contents are managed through the source operations; there is nothing to change here that affects what a search returns.

## Authentication

- `Authorization` header (required) (prefixed with ` Api-Key   `) — Header authentication of the form `Api-Key  <token>`
- `Authorization` header (bearer token, required) — Bearer authentication of the form `Bearer <token>`, where token is your auth token.

## Request

### Path parameters

- `knowledge_base_id` (string, required) — Knowledge base UUID.

### Body (application/json)

This endpoint expects a KnowledgeBaseWrite.

- `title` (string, optional) — Display name, e.g. "Product documentation".
- `description` (string, optional) — One line on what the knowledge base holds. Shown in pickers.

## Response

### 200

The updated knowledge base.

### 404 Not Found Error

No such knowledge base in this workspace.
