All fields optional. To move the task to a different status (column), pass `status` with the destination status UUID. Composite fields `assignees_add`/`assignees_remove` and `tags_add`/`tags_remove` are handled by the middleware — they trigger sub-resource calls automatically. `description` is converted to a Quill Delta (`rich_description`) by the toolkit. Reference: https://docs.simplified.com/api-reference/project-manager/tasks/update-task ## Authentication - `Authorization` header (required) (prefixed with ` Api-Key `) — Header authentication of the form `Api-Key ` - `Authorization` header (bearer token, required) — Bearer authentication of the form `Bearer `, where token is your auth token. ## Request ### Path parameters - `task_id` (string, required) — Task UUID or slug. ### Headers - `Organization` (string, optional) — Workspace (organization) ID the request is scoped to. - `Space` (string, optional) — Optional sub-space ID for further scoping inside the workspace. ### Body (application/json) This endpoint expects a TaskUpdateRequest. - `title` (string, optional) - `description` (string, optional) — Plain text task description. This is the field agents and CLI users should set. The toolkit converts it to a Quill Delta and writes `rich_description` automatically. - `rich_description` (map from string to any, optional) — INTERNAL — Quill Delta representation. Set automatically by the toolkit when you pass `description`. Do not pass directly unless you have a pre-built Delta and know what you're doing. - `status` (string, optional) — Move task to a new status (on the same or different board). - `start_date` (datetime, optional, nullable) - `due_date` (datetime, optional, nullable) - `priority` (integer, optional) - `complete` (boolean, optional) — Marking a task complete is rejected if the task has incomplete blockers or a running timer. - `estimated_hours` (double, optional, nullable) - `order` (integer, optional) — Pass to reposition the task inside its status. - `extra` (map from string to any, optional) - `custom_fields` (map from string to any, optional) - `assignees_add` (list of integer, optional) — Integer user IDs to add as assignees (get from listWorkspaceMembers). Toolkit calls POST /tasks/\{id}/assignees/ with \{"add": \[...]} after the PATCH. - `assignees_remove` (list of integer, optional) — Integer user IDs to remove from assignees (get from listWorkspaceMembers). Toolkit calls POST /tasks/\{id}/assignees/ with \{"remove": \[...]} after the PATCH. - `tags_add` (list of string, optional) — Composite field — tag names to add. Toolkit calls POST /tasks/\{id}/tags/ with \{"add": \[...]} after the PATCH. - `tags_remove` (list of string, optional) — Composite field — tag names to remove. Toolkit calls POST /tasks/\{id}/tags/ with \{"remove": \[...]} after the PATCH. ## Response ### 200 Task updated. - `any` ## Examples **Request** ```json {} ``` **SDK Code** ```python import requests url = "https://api.simplified.com/api/v1/pm/tasks/task_id" payload = {} headers = { "Authorization": "Api-Key ", "Content-Type": "application/json" } response = requests.patch(url, json=payload, headers=headers) print(response.json()) ``` ```javascript const url = 'https://api.simplified.com/api/v1/pm/tasks/task_id'; const options = { method: 'PATCH', headers: {Authorization: 'Api-Key ', 'Content-Type': 'application/json'}, body: '{}' }; try { const response = await fetch(url, options); const data = await response.json(); console.log(data); } catch (error) { console.error(error); } ``` ```go package main import ( "fmt" "strings" "net/http" "io" ) func main() { url := "https://api.simplified.com/api/v1/pm/tasks/task_id" payload := strings.NewReader("{}") req, _ := http.NewRequest("PATCH", url, payload) req.Header.Add("Authorization", "Api-Key ") req.Header.Add("Content-Type", "application/json") res, _ := http.DefaultClient.Do(req) defer res.Body.Close() body, _ := io.ReadAll(res.Body) fmt.Println(res) fmt.Println(string(body)) } ``` ```ruby require 'uri' require 'net/http' url = URI("https://api.simplified.com/api/v1/pm/tasks/task_id") http = Net::HTTP.new(url.host, url.port) http.use_ssl = true request = Net::HTTP::Patch.new(url) request["Authorization"] = 'Api-Key ' request["Content-Type"] = 'application/json' request.body = "{}" response = http.request(request) puts response.read_body ``` ```java import com.mashape.unirest.http.HttpResponse; import com.mashape.unirest.http.Unirest; HttpResponse response = Unirest.patch("https://api.simplified.com/api/v1/pm/tasks/task_id") .header("Authorization", "Api-Key ") .header("Content-Type", "application/json") .body("{}") .asString(); ``` ```php request('PATCH', 'https://api.simplified.com/api/v1/pm/tasks/task_id', [ 'body' => '{}', 'headers' => [ 'Authorization' => 'Api-Key ', 'Content-Type' => 'application/json', ], ]); echo $response->getBody(); ``` ```csharp using RestSharp; var client = new RestClient("https://api.simplified.com/api/v1/pm/tasks/task_id"); var request = new RestRequest(Method.PATCH); request.AddHeader("Authorization", "Api-Key "); request.AddHeader("Content-Type", "application/json"); request.AddParameter("application/json", "{}", ParameterType.RequestBody); IRestResponse response = client.Execute(request); ``` ```swift import Foundation let headers = [ "Authorization": "Api-Key ", "Content-Type": "application/json" ] let parameters = [] as [String : Any] let postData = JSONSerialization.data(withJSONObject: parameters, options: []) let request = NSMutableURLRequest(url: NSURL(string: "https://api.simplified.com/api/v1/pm/tasks/task_id")! as URL, cachePolicy: .useProtocolCachePolicy, timeoutInterval: 10.0) request.httpMethod = "PATCH" request.allHTTPHeaderFields = headers request.httpBody = postData as Data let session = URLSession.shared let dataTask = session.dataTask(with: request as URLRequest, completionHandler: { (data, response, error) -> Void in if (error != nil) { print(error as Any) } else { let httpResponse = response as?
