# CLI overview

The Simplified CLI brings your workspace to the command line. Use `simplified` to
upload campaign assets, generate images and videos, prepare social posts, collect
feedback, and report on performance. You can also manage brand kits and organize
work into projects without switching between screens.

Start with individual commands, then combine them into scripts or give them to an
AI assistant that can run a terminal. Your commands work with the same workspace,
brand kits, assets, and connected accounts you use in Simplified.

## Start here

1. [Install and authenticate](/cli/install-and-authenticate): install the CLI and connect your workspace with an API key.
2. [Create your first draft](/cli/quickstart): find a connected account, prepare a post, and verify the saved draft.
3. [Choose your workspace and teamspace](/cli/teamspace-context): keep client and team work in the right place.

```bash
npm install -g simplified-cli
simplified auth:login my-workspace
simplified auth:whoami
```

The login command prompts for your key. You can get one in
[Simplified API settings](https://app.simplified.com/settings/api-keys).

## How commands work

Commands follow `simplified area:action`. Options describe the input:

```bash
simplified accounts:list --network linkedin
simplified assets:upload --file ./campaign-hero.png
simplified projects:list --type pm
```

Use the [command reference](/cli/command-reference) to find a command, then open
its built-in help for the flags supported by your installed version:

```bash
simplified posts:create --help
```

Examples use uppercase placeholders such as `ACCOUNT_ID` and `ASSET_UUID`.
Replace them with values returned from your workspace. Sample media URLs must
also be replaced with files the service can access.

These guides cover the published `simplified-cli` **1.8.0** release. It requires
**Node.js 22 or newer**. Commands return structured data, but some also print
headings; see [output handling](/cli/use-from-an-ai-agent#read-command-output)
before piping results into a script.
