# ChatGPT

Use the **Simplified plugin for ChatGPT** to bring Simplified tools and workflow guidance into your conversations.

## 1. Install the Simplified plugin

Open the listing above, or find **Simplified** under **Settings → Plugins** in ChatGPT. Select **Install plugin** if it is not already installed. Some accounts show **Apps** instead; use the controls available in your account.

If Simplified is already installed, open its settings and check the connection rather than installing a duplicate. See [ChatGPT's plugin instructions](https://help.openai.com/en/articles/20001256-plugins-in-chatgpt-and-codex) for account-specific controls.

## 2. Connect your Simplified account

Choose **Connect** when prompted and complete the Simplified sign-in. Use the account that has access to the workspace you want to work in. Review the requested access and return to ChatGPT after authorization.

Installation and authentication are separate: a plugin can be installed before its connected app is ready to use. In a managed ChatGPT workspace, an administrator may need to enable it.

## 3. Use Simplified in a conversation

Start a chat and select Simplified from the **+** menu, or mention it with **@** when available. Ask for a read-only setup check:

> Use Simplified to identify my connected workspace and list its teamspaces. Do not create or change anything.

The assistant should use the workspace and teamspace tools, then report the actual results. Check the workspace name and choose the intended teamspace before creating content. The underlying tool names are `api_getWorkspaceInfo` and `api_listTeamspaces`; ChatGPT may add a prefix.

## 4. Try a real task

Start with an outcome and include the brand or teamspace:

* “Show the brand kits in our Marketing teamspace.”
* “Use our Acme brand kit to prepare three LinkedIn drafts. Keep them unpublished.”
* “Compare our connected accounts' performance last month and suggest three content tests.”

The plugin includes Simplified workflow skills for work such as campaign planning, content repurposing, creative production, and reporting. Use the [skills library](/skills/what-are-skills) to explore them. You do not need to run an npm skills installer inside ChatGPT for this plugin setup.

For a guided first task, follow the [MCP quickstart](/mcp/quickstart). Social accounts are needed for social tasks; an empty social-account list does not mean the entire connection failed.

## Troubleshooting

* **Simplified is unavailable:** check whether the plugin is enabled for your account and workspace. Your administrator may need to allow it.
* **Installed but not connected:** open the plugin's connection settings and complete sign-in.
* **The assistant answers without using Simplified:** select or mention the plugin and ask it to perform the workspace check explicitly.
* **Wrong workspace:** review the connected Simplified account before starting work. Choose the correct teamspace from the returned list.
* **A tool or action is missing:** check [tool availability](/mcp/profiles-and-tool-inventory) and your client's action permissions. The plugin does not guarantee that every API operation is exposed.

## Custom MCP connections

A custom MCP app is an advanced alternative for organizations that specifically need to manage their own connection. It is not part of the normal Simplified plugin installation.
