Flows · Runs · Re-run a finished workflow from the beginning

View as Markdown

Re-runs a terminal execution from its first task, using the same input.

Every task runs again, so credits are spent a second time and any external side effect happens again. The run must be in a terminal state (COMPLETED, FAILED, TERMINATED, TIMED_OUT).

resource: workflow://run-control covers restart versus retry.

Authentication

AuthorizationApi-Key

Header authentication of the form Api-Key <token>

OR
AuthorizationBearer

Bearer authentication of the form Bearer <token>, where token is your auth token.

Path parameters

run_idstringRequired

UUID of a single workflow execution, from flows_startWorkflow (returned as workflow_id) or flows_listWorkflowRuns (returned as id). NOT the small integer workflow-definition ID.

Request

This endpoint expects an object.
useLatestDefinitionsbooleanOptionalDefaults to false

When true, restart against the workflow's newest published version instead of the version the original run used.

Note the camelCase name — it is the upstream Conductor contract, not a typo, and it is the one field in this namespace that does not follow snake_case.

Response

Restart accepted; the run is executing from the top. Body is {id}, the same run ID — restarting reuses the run rather than creating one.
